In the past ten years, EDF Renewables North America has grown and become very successful under its strategic leader, Tristan Grimbert, who has been running the company since 2004. Under the leadership of Mr. Grimbert, EDF Renewables has increased its revenues fourteenfold and expanded into new markets in Canada and Mexico.

Under Mr. Grimbert’s leadership, the company has been integral to a number of strategic acquisitions and key initiatives that propel growth. In 2018, he played a critical role in the formation of Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind, LLC, a joint venture with Shell New Energies US to develop an offshore wind lease area off the coast of New Jersey. This was followed by the establishment of Mid-Atlantic Offshore Development, LLC, a joint venture to build an onshore transmission facility supporting offshore wind energy.

His commitment to helping move the industry forward was also evident in his service as Chairman of the American Wind Energy Association Board in 2017 and 2018.

Leaving a Legacy

The career of Tristan Grimbert began in sales and international consultancy. He is an alumnus of Institut National Agronomique Paris Grignon and holds a management degree from INSEAD. Before joining EDF Renewables, he served as President and CEO of the wholly-owned subsidiary of EDF, Mensi SA, and later with Trimble Navigation Limited. His rich experience and far-reaching vision have been of much help in shaping EDF Renewables into a leader in renewable energies.
